I am glad you like the painting. The basic shapes are done with acrylic paint, very thin so that they will be easy to paint over. They look darker in the photo than they do on the canvas. I usually mix Golden Fluid Anthraquinone Blue with Burnt Sienna to make a dark gray. For more detailed paintings I mix in white to flush out the different values of the painting.
